Disclosed are a remote guidance device and method capable of handling a hyper-motion step based on augmented reality and machine learning. The remote guidance device provided in a user terminal according to one embodiment comprises: an input unit which receives the current image of a worker′s field situation; a control unit which recognizes a work target from the current image received from the input unit, provides an augmented reality manual by matching a virtual work manual to the current image including the recognized work target, accesses a work step corresponding to user operation from among a plurality of work steps constituting the augmented reality manual depending on a user operation signal, and provides a screen for a corresponding work step; and an output unit which displays an augmented reality manual screen. Accordingly, object recognition accuracy can be improved.
