The present invention relates to a composition comprising a Gryllus bimaculatus extract as an active ingredient for mitigating alcoholic liver damage and, more specifically, to a functional food composition comprising a Gryllus bimaculatus extract as an active ingredient for mitigating alcoholic liver damage and a pharmaceutical composition comprising a Gryllus bimaculatus extract as an active ingredient for preventing or treating alcoholic liver damage. According to the present invention, the Gryllus bimaculatus extract provides excellent effects of inhibiting fat accumulation by alcohol, fat biosynthesis, apoptosis action, and inflammatory response, thereby effectively inhibiting the alcoholic liver damage. Moreover, the Gryllus bimaculatus extract provides liver cell protection activity, thereby being usefully used as a material for functional food or drugs for mitigating liver damage.
