According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for using an autonomous vehicle as a shield against meteorological phenomena on a drivable surface area may comprise the steps of: allowing a determination unit of the vehicle to determining if the drivable surface area is protected from the meteorological phenomena; allowing the vehicle to autonomously drive on the drivable surface area by an autonomous driving unit of the vehicle so that the vehicle covers at least a part of the drivable surface area for the phenomena; allowing the determination unit of the vehicle to determine whether the drivable surface area is covered or not; and allowing the vehicle to autonomously drive to be further away from the drivable surface area by the autonomous driving unit so that the drivable surface area is not covered.
