The bobbin thread detection apparatus of the present invention includes a contact rod, a contact rod operation member, a return operation member, a stopper, a drive source, and a sensor. The contact rod operation member is mounted on the contact rod to generate a contact force for pushing the contact rod. The stopper blocks the movement of the contact rod through the return action member. The drive source drives the stopper away from the contact rod, so that the contact rod operation member releases the contact force and the contact rod moves to a detection position close to the rotation hook, and the sensor accordingly generates a detection signal. Therefore, the contact rod must be moved indirectly by the contact force, and the driving source does not directly drive the contact rod to move, so the force of the driving source does not directly impact the contact rod and the bobbin thread.
