A regenerative electrical power storage control system for elevators, comprising: a converter (7) that converts an alternating electrical current to a direct electrical current; an inverter (8) that converts the direct electrical current to a variable voltage and variable frequency electrical current by one to drive an electric motor (1) which causes an elevator car (4) to get on and off; an electric energy storage device (9) which is connected between the converter (7) and the inverter by means of an electric current charging and discharging means (15) (8) attached DC buses (11) is provided, wherein the electrical energy storage device (9) stores DC energy supplied by the DC buses (11) during regenerative operation of the cabin (4) and during engine operation of the cabin (4) provides stored direct current energy to the direct current buses (11); an electrical current charging and discharging control unit (19), the electrical energy that is stored during the regenerative operation of the cabin (4) in the electrical energy storage device (9) and electrical energy that is transmitted from the electrical energy storage device (9) to the DC buses (11) during engine operation is provided to the cabin (4), calculated, and then controls the electric power charging and discharging means (15); an electric power charging and discharging control power supply (20), the direct electric power to the power charging and discharging control unit (19) returns; and voltage converting means (16) for supplying direct current electrical energy stored in the electrical energy storage device (9) to the electrical current charge and discharge control power supply (20), the electrical current charge and discharge control unit (19) on a time zone basis electrical energy which is stored in and discharged from the electrical energy storage device (9) during a predetermined period of time, and in a period of time in which after the predetermined period a value obtained by subtracting the discharged electrical energy from the electrical energy storage device (9 ) of whose stored electrical energy is a predetermined value or larger, the electrical current charging and discharging control unit (19) transfers the direct current energy stored in the electrical energy storage device (9) to the direct current buses (11) via the electrical current charging and discharging means (15) and the elec trical current charge and discharge control power supply (20) via the voltage conversion means (16) provides.
