The invention relates to a protocol converter circuit for converting a sensor signal according to a first protocol into a control signal according to a second protocol, the protocol converter circuit having a receiving circuit with a signal input for sensor signals according to the first protocol and a transmission circuit with a signal output for sending control signals according to the second protocol as well has a microcontroller connected to the receiving circuit and to the transmitting circuit. The invention also relates to a sensor device with a sensor and a protocol converter circuit according to the invention and a corresponding method for protocol conversion.
