Devices, methods and a storage medium in connection with traffic sign recognition are disclosed here. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an orchestrator located in a CA / AD vehicle for receiving a classification and location of a traffic sign while the CA / AD vehicle is on a path to a destination. In response, the orchestrator queries a remote sign locator service or a local database in the CA / AD vehicle for a reference description of the traffic sign, determines whether the classification is correct, and outputs a result of the determination. The classification of the traffic sign is generated at least in part on the basis of computer vision and the orchestrator comprises an anomaly detector for detecting anomalies between the classification and the reference description and determining whether the classification is correct, at least in part on the basis of a quantity of anomalies detected.
