A robot gravity balancer is provided that can be used for both floor and ceiling robots and allows the direction of a force it generates to be easily changed. A robot gravity balancer 50 comprises: a tubular housing 53, both ends of which in the direction of a longitudinal axis OL1 are closed by end plates 55, 56 with through-holes TH1, TH2; a movable member 63 housed within the housing 53 so as to be movable in the direction of the longitudinal axis OL1; a compression coil spring 62 disposed between the movable member 63 and the end plate 56; and an elongated rod 59 which can be passed through the through holes TH1, TH2 of the two end plates 55, 56 and which is arranged in a state in which one end is detachably attached to the movable member 63 and the other end is outwardly from the Housing 53 protrudes regardless of which of the through bores TH1, TH2 the rod 59 passes through. The robot gravity balancer 50 is arranged between a first element and a second element of a robot, the second element being provided such that it can be pivoted about a predetermined pivot axis relative to the first element.
