The invention relates to a method for detecting the angular orientation of hollow bodies (10) of thermoplastic material comprising a neck (12) of determined main axis (A) which is equipped with a mark (20), the method comprising: a first step (E1) of taking at least one image (P) of the neck (12) from a shooting position and in a shooting axis (B) both determined with respect to the hollow body ( 10); - a second step (E2) of processing the at least one image (P) to detect the angular position of the marker (20); characterized in that the step (E1) of taking at least one image consists in taking at least two images (P1, P2, P3, P4) of the outer periphery of the neck (12) from shooting positions offset from the main axis (A) of the neck (12).
