Improved method for oxygen oxygenation of chemical wood pulp

A method of making high yield kraft pulp is provided. In particular, the method involves adding a composition comprising an organic amine phosphonate and a sulfonated linear alcohol ethoxylate surfactant to the pulping process. The composition enhances delignification of cellulose fibers in chemical wood pulp.
