The concept of the business process is important for developing modern internet-based information systems. For designing the effective business process, it is necessary to select the right modeling method. However, a variety of business process modeling methods habe been proposed and it is difficult to select the best one. In this paper, firstly, I show how business process modeling methods habe changed accompainied with the expansion of their target business fields. Based on this, I propose five modeling elements -goal, role business event, input/output, and actibity sequence, which are indispensable for constructing the business process in the era of internet technology. In addition, based on these modeling elements, I categorize the traditional business process modeling methods. Lastly, I show how to compose multiple business process modeling methods in each step of the business process design.
