Rotunda Hospital Dublin clinical report 1st January 2007 to 31st December 2007.

2007 was the 263rd year of unbroken service for the Rotunda. It also marked theud250th Anniversary Year of the 'new' Rotunda Hospital which opened on the ParnelludSquare site on 8th December 1757. During the year 8257 women delivered 8456udbabies greater than 500g. This represented a 15% increase in activity compared to 2006.udwhich already had seen a 7% rise compared to 2005. The overall perinatal mortality rateudfor the year was 9.0 per 1,000 and when congeniral abnormalities and un booked patientsudwere excluded, the corrected perinatal mortality rate was 4.7 per 1,000. In the light ofudsuch increased activity these are excellent results by any standards. This was the busiestudyear on record for the hospital and I would like to thank all of the staff for their ongoingudsupport and commitments providing the best possible care to our patients.
