Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF) – Evaluation of DCF 2016 Annual Reports Data Transmission to end users in 2016 preparation for the new assessment of Annual Reports and Data Transmission (STECF-17-10)

Commission Decision of 25 February 2016 setting up a Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries, C(2016) 1084, OJ C 74, 26.2.2016, p. 4–10. The Commission may consult the group on any matter relating to marine and fisheries biology, fishing gear technology, fisheries economics, fisheries governance, ecosystem effects of fisheries, aquaculture or similar disciplines. This report presents the STECF findings based on the Report of the Expert Working Group (EWG 17-07) which was held from 26-30 June 2017 in Gavirate, Italy to evaluate MS Annual Reports on data collection for 2016, the MS’s data transmission to the end users during 2016 and to advise on potential changes and improvements needed to conduct future reviews under the recently revised data collection framework regulation (Regulation (EU) 2017/1004 – recast). The report of the EWG was reviewed by the STECF during its 55th plenary meeting.
