SUMMARY. — Taking into account publications that have appeared in recent decades on Arab-Latin translations of the 12th century, this study seeks to evaluate their impact on the teaching of the quadrivium delivered in cathedral schools of the period. It focuses on a remarkable text, Thierry of Chartres' Heptateuchon and thereby advances our understanding of acculturation through integration, as developed in anthropological studies.
