This work presents positive experiment results on theudefficiency and security potential of an optimized and noveludapproach to an Autonomous Management Distributed Systemud(AMDS) running in a Cloud Computing environment. Theudresults validate the AMDS software design and demonstrate itsudpotential as an industrial application to be used in modernuddatacenters. On one hand, from an operational performanceudpoint of view, they show the AMDS’ ability of reconfiguringuditself on the fly, thus resulting in 14 percent increased efficiencyudover the lifetime of the first experiment. On the other hand, theyudshow an overall malicious (Botnet) data packet detection rate ofudover 52 percent, a significant percentage for only 5000 networkuddata samples analyzed by the Botnet software module pluggedudinto the AMDS. Both experiments have been performed in audVMWare run cloud environment, however due to the AMDS’udabstract architecture, it has the potential to interface with anyudexisting cloud management system that exposes an API.
