So that, the English translation of the HolyudQur’an is very significant for many people who do not understand Arabic. Besidesudusing semantic as aspect in translating verses of Qur’an, we must also use syntax.udTherefore, the writer takes a title of this study as in above.udRelated to the title, the research questions proposed are; “How is theudbiography of both translators, Muhammad Taqi’ud-din Al-Hilali and MuhammadudMuhsin Khan?, How are the syntactic structures of English translation of surahudAl-A’laa?, How is the verb equivalence between English and Arabic in Englishudtranslation of surah Al-A’laa. Then, the objectives of this research are to find outudthe biography of Muhammad Taqi’ud-din Al-Hilali and Muhammad MuhsinudKhanboth translators, the syntactic structures of English translation of surah Al-udA’laa and the last is verb equivalence between English and Arabic in Englishudtranslation of that surah.udThe researcher uses tree diagram as the method of data analysis to find outudthe sentence structures of that surah, then, explain each diagram that representsudthe translation of it. Furthermore, he also analyzes the verb equivalence betweenudEnglish and Arabic syntactically in that surah. The data of this study are in formudof sentences or words rather than numbers. Therefore, this study is classified as auddescriptive qualitative.udAfter presenting and analyzing all the data, the researcher finallyudconcludes both translators, Muhammad Taqiud-din Hilali and MuhammadudMuhsin Khan, are competent translator that master English and Arabic well. Then,udhe also concludes that the syntactic structures of the translation of surah al-A’laaudas follow: there are seventeen sentence patterns of the sentences in this surah, oneudsentence pattern of the noun phrase and two sentence patterns of the verb phraseudappear in this surah. The last one is about verb equivalence between English andudArabic syntactically, as follow; the use of fi’il mudhari’ is equivalent with simpleudpresent of future tense , and fi’il madhi is with simple past or perfect tense.
