In this research, the response of a Semi-SWATHud(Small Waterplane Area) ship in following sea condition withudfins stabilizer was investigated. In the waves, a ship moveudwith periodic dynamic surge motion caused by the external seaudwave force and moment. In addition, in following seas withudhigh steep waves, the ship can surf, high pitch, bow-dive, andudlead the ship in the non-linear response. A numericaludsimulation program in 3DOF (surge, heave and pitch) withudtime varying model equation was developed to study the shipudresponses. This study focuses on the effect of variation ofudwave parameter to the ship response and the effects of finsudstabilizer; fixed and active. The numerical simulations wereudvalidated with model tests in towing tank. Simulations resultsudshowed that the dynamic ship response was stabilizedudeffectively and reduced pitch angle by active fins stabilizerudaction.
