Ontology-Driven Knowledge Organization: Enhancing UDDI Web services in Korea Using Topic Maps

Effective and efficient publishing and searching for Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) Webservices is important for the success of Web services. Traditional approaches such as index, thesaurus, andclassification have historically dominated information representation and organization; however, they have somelimitations. Ontology-driven knowledge organization [An ontology-driven knowledge organization approach] isconsidered one of keys to the next generation of knowledge management applications because ontology providesstructure and meaning to data. This research examines how ontology-driven knowledge organization could providebenefits to current UDDI Web services.
