Maternal Drug Abuse and Drug Exposed Children: A Compendium of HHS Activities

The report documents programs within the Department of Health and Human Services that address the problem of substance abuse in families. The report is divided into two sections, the first of which lists programs and other activities that specifically aim to reduce drug use among women, children, and families. The second part of the compendium describes other related programs and activities that, although not targeted at drug use within families, do address this issue as part of a larger mission. The study lists each initiative by agency, describes the types of services offered, discusses the status of the activity, lists the types of evaluation efforts that have been undertaken, and includes the names of agency contacts.
