On October 8, 1991, in Philadelphia, the National Atmospheric DepositionProgram/National Trends Network (NADP/NTN) Technical Committee hosted a symposium on the deposition and fate of trace metals in the environment. Fourteen papers were prepared by 37 authors with a breadth of experience in trace metal ecology over the last decade. The proceedings are meant to inform the members of the analytic and collection methods for trace metals in precipitation, and the processing of trace metals in the landscape and its biota. It is a solid review of trace metals designed to facilitate an informed discussion about the addition of trace metals to the NADP/NTN network.
