The 1991 World Bank Annual Conference on Development Economics, the third in the series, was held April 25-26 in Washington, D.C. The conference highlighted four themes: governance, urbanization, military expenditure and development, and transition in socialist economies. The conference ended with a roundtable discussion on the sustainability of economic growth.
