Future Transportation in Nebraska, 1995-2015. Executive Summary

The Nebraska Department of Roads, in coordination with other state, local, and211u001etribal agencies and transportation-oriented organizations, has developed a 211u001eStatewide Long-Range Transportation Plan to facilitate an efficient, affordable 211u001esafe, environmentally sound, and coordinated statewide transportation system for 211u001ethe movement of people, goods, and services within and across the state of 211u001eNebraska. The plan addresses all modes of surface and non-surface transportation 211u001esuch as highways, streets and roads, railroads, bicycle and pedestrian 211u001efacilities, airports, pipelines, and barge facilities. The plan also addresses 211u001ethe issues and goals generated from Public Participation workshop. The plan 211u001eprovides direction for a broad 'Framework for Action' by which the state's 211u001etransportation system will be shaped. By planning within the scope of the 211u001eframework, we can best identify how each mode of the transportation system 211u001ecomplements the other as part of an integrated network.
