Simulation of Viscous Flow in a Centrifugal Compressor

摘要

A numerical simulation of a steady three-dimensional viscous flow in acentrifugal compressor is described. The simulation is based on a solution of thin-layer Navier-Stokes equations, which are solved using an implicit time integration method with a multigrid acceleration of convergence. The effects of turbulence are evaluated employing an algebraic turbulence model. Simulations are performed for the Krain impeller at three different inlet mass flows, and for a high-speed compressor at design conditions.
