摘要

The authors summarize the results of their three year study evaluating theeffects of deep planktonic production in several Wisconsin lakes. The authors employed both a survey and an intensive approach to evaluate the effects of deep production. The authors report first focuses on the results of their initial survey in the fall of 1992. From that survey, the authors' group chose two lakes, Sparkling Lake, in northern Wisconsin and Marl Lake, in central Wisconsin, for intensive study. The results summarized for the intensive study include biological and chemical analyses of samples collected during the ice-free season of 1993 and 1994 on these two lakes. Finally, the authors report on their mid-summer 1994 sampling. In addition to assessing interannual variability, this sampling period allowed for the unique ability to conduct collaborative research with two other research groups.
