A Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation demonstration was conducted toevaluate the ability of the solidification/stabilization treatment process developed by Silicate Technology Corporation (STC) to reduce the mobility and leaching potential of organic and inorganic contaminants in soils. The treatment process is based on STC's proprietary alumino-silicate product, FMS Silicate. The demonstration was held at the Selma Pressure Treating site in Selma, CA, in November 1990. The STC technology was demonstrated using contaminated soils from an unlined waste disposal pond at this site that contained significant levels of pentachlorophenol (PCP), arsenic, copper, and chromium. Treated soil from the demonstration was monitored for a period of 32 mo, ending in July 1993.
