摘要

The primary focus of this work is on development and evaluation of the 3MCompany's (EM's) Hybrid U-tube, although limited results are also provided for alternative designs. The Hybrid U-tube represents one possible solution to the need to improve downtime, maintenance, and productivity of industrial heat furnaces. Conventional metal alloy radiant tubes are susceptible to thermal shock. Working temperature limits of convential metal alloys can also restrict furnance productivity. Since the majority of radiant tubes in North America are U-type, it would be ideal to provide a similar shaped product in an improved material to minimize application costs.
