In September 1991, the Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH) of the211u001eNational Institutes of Health (NIH) convened a meeting in Hunt Valley, Maryland, 211u001eto assess the state of the science and to develop an agenda to guide women's 211u001ehealth research in the coming decade. The report generated by that meetings, set 211u001eforth the research recommendations developed by working groups focused on the 211u001emajor divisions of a woman's life span and on scientific issues, diseases, and 211u001econditions that affect women's health. That report has served as the broad 211u001eblueprint for women's health research at the national Institutes of Health.
