This series of state-by-state litings ranks commercial banks' small businesslending activities for every state and the District of Columbia as of June 1996 by looking at such data as: the number and dollar value of small business loans outstanding, the dollar value of small business loans relative to total deposits, and several other lending ratios and measures. The analysis is based upon loan data culled from the quarterly call reports filed by financial institutions with federal banking regulators under the terms of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991.
