Summary Report of Radionuclides and Metals in Selected Wildlife in Canada

A program was conducted from 1991 to 1996 to characterize background radiation inwildlife in Canada and to survey wildlife for evidence of elevated radiation and metal exposure. The purpose of the program was to provide data on the normal variability of radionuclides and related compounds in natural food chains to improve precision and reduce uncertainty in food chain transport and ecological assessment models. The research also helped to identify unique exposure pathways not generally considered in natural food chain models of radionuclide transport.
