The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) received a request to conduct a health hazard evaluation (HHE) at Gen Corp Automotive in Marion, Indiana, from the United Rubber Workers Union (New part of the United Steel Workers Union), local 466. The union was concerned about employee exposures in all three departments of the plant, and specifically to nitrosamines, inks, glues, styrene, divinyl benzine, an organic peroxides.
