摘要

In this paper the Fourier integral technique combined with finite element methodhas been used to predict the stresses, moments, forces and displacements of a buried culvert due to the effect of wheel loads. The formulation has been encoded in a computer program, AFENA, and the computational method has been verified using experimental data from a full-scale load test. The proposed method is capable of assessing both the stresses induced by the wheel loads as well as their effects on the culvert, and there is shown to be excellent correlation with the field data.
