This project constitutes Phase II of the Sound Waste Management Plan and created211u001ewaste oil collection and disposal facilities, bilge water collection and disposal 211u001efacilities, recycling storage, and household hazardous waste collection and 211u001estorage, and household hazardous waste collection and storage facilities in 211u001ePrince William Sound. A wide range of waste streams are generated within 211u001ecommunities in the Sound including used oil generated from vehicles and vessels, 211u001eand hazardous wastes generated by households. This project included the design 211u001eand construction of Environmental Operations Stations buildings in Valdez, 211u001eCordova, Whittier, Chenega Bay and Tatitlek to improve the overall management of 211u001eoily wastes. They will house new equipment to facilitate oily waste collection, 211u001etreatment and disposal. This project also included completion of used oil 211u001emanagement manuals.
