The life tables in this report are current abridged life tables for the UnitedStates based on age-specific death rates in 1994. The data used to prepare these abridged life tables are 1994 final mortality statistics and July 1, 1994, population estimates. Presented are tables showing life expectancy and survivorship by age, race, and sex. In 1994 the overall expectation of life at birth was 75.7 years, an increase of 0.2 years compared with life expectancy in life expectancy from 1993 to 1994 were also noted for white males (from 73.1 tp 73.3), white females (from 79.5 to 79.6), black males (from 64.6 to 64.9), and black females (from 73.7 to 73.9).
