Study of Process Parameters on Two Phase Flow Agitated by Top Blowing Lance211 Injection into a Bath

Numerical investigation has been carried out for two phase flow in a bath211u001eagitated by top blowing lance injection. Eulerian two phase flow model is used. 211u001eLance immersion depth, injection gas flow rate, nozzle diameter, and bubble size 211u001ehave been systematically changed to examine their influence on the flow 211u001echaracteristics in the bath. It is found that there appear three typical flow 211u001epatterns: one-vortex, two-vortex, and three-vortex type, with changing the 211u001einjection gas flow rate or/and the nozzle diameter at moderate lance immersion 211u001edepth. Predicted velocities are in good agreement with Iguchi et al.'s 211u001eexperimental data and the main findings are also consistent with the measurements 211u001eand observations of Chatterjee et al. and Hsiao and Lehner.
