Ground-Water Occurrence and Contribution to Streamflow, Northeast Maui, Hawaii

The purpose of this report is to (1) quantify the ground-water contribution to211u001estreams, (2) evaluate the effects of geologic controls on ground-water/surface-211u001ewater interaction, and (3) describe the conceptual model of ground-water 211u001eoccurrence in northeast Maui. Existing streamflow data were analyzed to estimate 211u001eground-water discharge into streams. Reconnaissance-level observations of 211u001egeologic features and their relation to ground-water discharge were made 211u001ethroughout much of the study area. Streamflow measurements were made along 211u001eselected streams in the study area to characterize the gains and losses along 211u001eeach stream.
