Development of Detailed Procedures for Updating the WVDOT Statewide Traffic211 Assignment Model (STAM) and Socioeconomic Database

In the 1970s, a Statewide Traffic Assignment Model and Associated Socioeconomic211u001eDatabase (STAM) was developed for West Virginia. West Virginia Department of 211u001eTransportation (WVDOT) employee found the model and adjoining database to be a 211u001evaluable tool because it provided needed information in support of a wide range 211u001eof their endeavors. In time, however, the model became outdated because limited 211u001ehuman resources in the WVDOT prohibited the incorporation of new technologies and 211u001edata. The purpose of this research project was to provide technical background 211u001einformation regarding the capabilities of technologies that can support an 211u001eupdated STAM, and perform preliminary planning related to the redevelopment of 211u001eSTAM.
