摘要

The present Lighting Laboratory was founded in 1997. Lighting Laboratory isworking in the field of lighting research and education. The research is mainly supported by the European Commission, the government, lighting manufacturers and industry. The main fields of illumination engineering research are the characteristics and quality of light sources, visual performance and visibility as design criteria of indoor lighting and the development of daylight and artificial lighting control systems. The photometric and electrical characteristics and the application fields of fluorescent, single-capped fluorescent, discharge and induction lamps have been studied. The research fields concerning lighting and vision include: lighting needs of older and low vision people, lighting design based on luminances, the role of visual performance in lighting design and the assessment of glare. The utilization of daylight and the development of integrated lighting control systems are at present being studied.
