摘要

The 34th Physics Day of the Finnish Physical Society will again attract more thanfour hundred participants representing all areas of physics. With many foreign participants and invited plenary speakers, the Physics Days are developing also into a presentation of Finnish physics to the international community. Traditionally, the annual meeting of the Finnish Physical Society will take place during the Physics Days. This gives a good opportunity of ordinary members to take part in decision making, since more than 40% of the members of the Society will attend the Days. The physics education in Finland, like in many other countries, is struggling with ever-higher demands for physicists and physics teachers and with the lack of high school students wanting to study physics or sciences in general. The Finnish Physical Society is continuing its campaign for stimulating the physics in high schools. The main effort is in continuing its campaign for stimulating the physics in high schools. The main effort is in SOLIS program where the schools are provided with instrumentation for measuring solar radiation and other environmental observables. A competition for SOLIS-related projects was launched last year for high school students.
