The document 'Mental Health Outcomes Risk Adjustment: A National ResearchDevelopment Conference' took place in Spokane, Washington, August 16-18, 1999. The conference drew 86 participants, representing universities, public and private mental health organizations, and others. The conference included research presentations on issues and methods of metal health outcomes risk-adjustment, and workgroup discussions designed to identify specific next steps that participants could undertake to advance the field. As evidenced by conference evaluations and by the number of post-conference activities that developed, the conference was very successful in its intended purpose of advancing risk-adjustment knowledge and practice in the mental health services field.
