Homeland Defense and Crisis Management: A Workshop for Frontline Professionals. Executive Summary Report, February 2002 (Workshop Proceedings - December 18, 2001)

To provide a focal point for discussing homeland security, E-Gov and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) convened The Homeland Defense and Crisis Management Workshop at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C on December 18, 2001. The objectives of this workshop were to: Identify the political, technological, and organizational challenges to information sharing among government agencies at the federal, state, local, and international levels. Explore the obstacles to creating networked organizations for crisis response. Define the information technology challenges to responding to terrorist attacks and other emergency situations. Share information on policies and plans. This one-day event comprised three sessions that addressed policy, integration and collaboration, and technology and a plenary session designed to summarize issues and recommendations.
