摘要

The latest achievements from the studies on HCV genome structure and variability and on the role of immune host response are reported, as well as progresses of knowledge on epidemiology, developments in diagnostic tools and therapy perspectives. The achievement on new viruses potentially related to hepatitis infections is also included. Such data have greatly impacted on various areas of medicine and health structures as concerns the infection therapy and prevention.
