The report describes a case of invasive disease with streptococcus pyogens (i.e., group A streptococcus (GAS)), after reconstructive knee surgery using contaminated allograft tissue and provides recommendations to reduce the risk for allograft-associated infections. Although allograft infections are rare, they highlight the need for tissue evaluation and processing standards.
