摘要

The California Air Resources Board initiated the Lake Tahoe Atmospheric Deposition Study (LTADS) to help quantify the contribution of atmospheric deposition to the declining water clarity of Lake Tahoe. Two types of filter samplers for particulate matter (PM) were deployed in this study. Two Week Samplers (TWS) for TSP, PM10, and PM2.5 were operated continuously at five cornerstone sites: Big Hill (BH), Lake Forest (LF), Thunderbird Lodge (TB), and South Lake Tahoe (SOLA and SW (Sandy Way)). Mini-Vol samplers collected samples of various durations (from 24-hours to 2- weeks) to measure TSP at less accessible sites. The Desert Research Institute coordinated the shipping and receiving of sampling media with the site operators. DRI also provided equipment, lab analysis, and trouble-shooting to ensure the smooth operation of the TWS and Mini-Vol sampling programs.
