摘要

The objective of this research was to develop a methodology for the application of TBDM sandstone analogs in the appraisal stage. Focus was on how and to what extent outcrop and producing field analogs can assist appraisal of TBDM sandstone reservoirs. Models of architectural elements of TBDM sandstones were extracted based on outcrops and producing fields. TBDM sandstones were evaluated in terms of geometry, facies characteristics and continuity to determine what characteristics can be diagnostic for a particular architectural type. The resulting models were used as input parameters for seismic forward modeling (Matlab) and production simulations (IMEX) to illustrate how analog models can be validated. The output of this study was a realistic method for application of these conceptual models in the subsurface. Three reservoir types with characteristic architectural elements of TBDM sandstones were recognized. These are sheets, channels and pillows. Their sedimentological characteristic and spatial arrangement influence the appraisal of and the production from such reservoirs: Sheets are very continuous and have a tabular geometry in plan view. They generally form a layer-cake reservoir type. Channels have ellipsoidal geometry in plan view.
