Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime, Grants Sub-Awarded by the Puerto Rico Department of Justice to Carlos Albizu University San Juan, Puerto Rico

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Audit Division, has completed an audit of grant funds sub-awarded by the Puerto Rico Department of Justice (PRDOJ) to Carlos Albizu University (CAU). CAU is a private, non-profit, university that offers bachelors degrees in behavioral sciences and advanced degrees in psychology and other related fields. CAU has campuses located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Miami, Florida. We conducted our audit work at the San Juan, Puerto Rico, campus. Our work at CAU began as a limited scope review of internal controls over administration of grant funds. Because of the internal control weaknesses identified, we converted the review into a full-scope audit and requested the assistance of OIG investigators.
