摘要

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) in science measures the knowledge and skills students have acquired as part of their science education. The National Assessment Governing Board oversees the development of NAEP frameworks that describe the specific knowledge and skills to be assessed in each subject. Frameworks incorporate ideas and input from subject area experts, school administrators, policymakers, teachers, parents, and others. The Science Framework for the 2011 National Assessment of Educational Progress describes the types of questions to be included in the assessment and how they should be designed and scored. The 2009 and 2011 assessments were developed using the same framework, allowing the results from the two assessment years to be compared.
