The conference examined issues related to the development of risk-adjusted outcome measures derived from data captured in an electronic health record (EHR) at the time of care. Outcome measures quantify the end result of an individuals encounter with the health care system. To compare providers performance accurately, outcome measures require risk adjustment. The introduction of the EHR is expected to provide new opportunities to access health outcomes and risk adjustment data.
