THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF MANGANESE - COPPER ALLOYS (VIBRATION DAMPING CAPACITY AND ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE)

Manganese-copper alloys can be heat treated to give excellent tensile strength and ductility which when coupled with their reported high vibration damping capacity and high electrical resistance produce alloys with a combination of properties not heretofore obtainable. For the same tensile strength, the ductility of manganese-copper alloys is, in most cases, superior to commercial copper alloys and plain carbon steels.
