The subject Japanese direction finder is obsolete when coopered to equipment now being produced for the 0. S. Signal Corps. It does not anybody any of the features such as shielded loops, superheterodyne receivers, or visual bearing indicators now commonly used with standard direction finders. In general construction of this equipment dates back at least 15 years. There are no features of either design or construction, with the exception of plating materials and the wood used in the carrying chests, which are not equalled (and generally bettered) in Signal Corps direction finders.nFrom an operational standpoint, this Japanese direction Tinder is far inferior to any Signal Corps direction finder.
