A shock mounting for mercury-in-glass thermostats in Naval Fire Alarm circuits has been developed and one experimental model is being submitted. It consists essentially of a newly-designed (neoprene) cover to assemble directly to existing cases. To make it unnecessary to replace those cases already in the Service, the elastic properties of the mounting were designed to the internal space limitations of the Naval Standard Phenolic Case for Fire Alarm Thermostats.
